On September 26–27, Design Thing will take place in Húsavík – an annual festival of design and innovation that has grown rapidly and become one of the most exciting platforms for the creative industries in Iceland.
This year’s theme is food and how it manifests in design and innovation. The program includes talks, workshops, happenings, exhibitions, concerts, and culinary events. Among the guests are both local and international experts – ranging from entrepreneurs to designers and artists.
The second Snjallræði workshop – out of four that the teams will complete by December – will be held in Húsavík on this occasion, in parallel with Design Thing. The University of Akureyri will lead the workshop, linking Snjallræði’s venture design approach with the dynamic melting pot that the festival provides.
During the workshop, entrepreneurs will continue developing their ideas through venture design methods, while also taking part in the diverse Design Thing program. In this way, the focused work within Snjallræði is combined with the festival’s open forum, where networking, reflection, and inspiration play a key role.
We look forward to seeing how this connection strengthens the projects that the teams are developing within Snjallræði.
Design Thing is open to everyone interested in design, innovation, and the creative industries.
